Asian ministry leader & wife
When Dawe began working with our Asian Ministry, it consisted of only a handful of Karen and Karenni. Less than a year later, we have had the privilege of seeing this ministry grow and flourish under his direction.
Dawe was born in the jungle of Burma, as his family fled to safety to a refugee camp on the border of Thailand. His father was killed when he was a child, and being the third youngest out of 9 children, Dawe grew up in an orphanage. When he was fourteen years old he and part of his family applied to come to America, Dawe told God that he would serve Him and give his life to Him, if God opened that door. In 2010, when he got to America, a Karen friend invited Dawe to Cornerstone. Dawe got saved, baptized, and surrendered his life to the Lord. After graduation from Hyles-Anderson College, Dawe and Kristina got married in August 2020. They teach a Karenni Sunday School class. Dawe also translates the preaching to Karenni every Sunday, and they are working with the young people on Sunday afternoons. Kristina teaches part-time at Denver Baptist Schools.
The Khusays will be going to Thailand and back into the jungles of Burma to reach the Karenni people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
