Following the leading of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Alley and his family started the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Greater Denver in April of 1992. From the beginning, Pastor Alley's greatest desire has been for the people of Denver to know the saving and the transforming power of the gospel of Christ. Pastor Alley is a true visionary in every aspect of ministry. His compassion for people from all walks of life has earned him the love and respect of his members as well as the people of his community. Pastor Alley's beloved wife, Ruth, known to our church family as "Mrs. Alley", has also devotedly served the people of Cornerstone Baptist Church with her husband since the very beginning. They have been married since April 2, 1977. Pastor Alley is very affectionately known by most as "Preacher.
Gordon Alley serves as the Associate Pastor at Cornerstone. He and his wife Rachel have been married since 2002 and have their quiver full. Around the church, Pastor Gordon can be found working on various church projects with a couple of his children. One of his greatest desires is to pass on his love for God and ministry to the next generation.
When Dawe began working with our Asian Ministry, it consisted of only a handful of Karen and Karenni. Less than a year later, we have had the privilege of seeing this ministry grow and flourish under his direction.
Dawe was born in the jungle of Burma, as his family fled to safety to a refugee camp on the border of Thailand. His father was killed when he was a child, and being the third youngest out of 9 children, Dawe grew up in an orphanage. When he was fourteen years old he and part of his family applied to come to America, Dawe told God that he would serve Him and give his life to Him, if God opened that door. In 2010, when he got to America, a Karen friend invited Dawe to Cornerstone. Dawe got saved, baptized, and surrendered his life to the Lord. After graduation from Hyles-Anderson College, Dawe and Kristina got married in August 2020. They teach a Karenni Sunday School class. Dawe also translates the preaching to Karenni every Sunday, and they are working with the young people on Sunday afternoons. Kristina teaches part-time at Denver Baptist Schools.
The Khusays will be going to Thailand and back into the jungles of Burma to reach the Karenni people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Megan began attending Cornerstone Baptist Church at 8 years old when Pastor Gordon invited her brother to come to church. At 12 years old, she surrendered to serve the Lord during a teen conference in Texas. After attending Hyles-Anderson College and earning her bachelors in secondary education and her masters, she returned to Denver to teach at our school, Denver Baptist Schools. Megan has a passion for education and seeing her students succeed. She is faithful and works in many different ministries here at Cornerstone Baptist Church. From driving a van route to helping in the nursery, Megan has the heart of a servant.
